This moodboard uses vibrant materials just like la fauna by Casa Remedios

The La Fauna collection by Casa Remedios is a collaboration between Mercedes Salazar and Serena Cancellier. Salazar is a Colombian designer of beautiful jewelry and unique objects. Her work is imaginative and shows her craftsman’s skills. Cancellier is a leather goods designer and artistic director. She is an Italian living in Paris and believes that every creation should have an emotional dimension.

This collaboration was born because of their instant connection in 2019. The Colombian Chamber of Fashion invited Cancellier to lead a workshop. The two went out for dinner and never stopped talking. La Fauna honors the skills of Colombian artisans. Each of the unique pieces features a metal structure woven in recycled plastic. Although the tradition is straw instead of plastic, this adds a modern twist to the elements. They showcased this collection in the most recent Paris design week and it was a standout.

This collection’s vibrant materials especially inspired us. Therefore, we recolored the Ikat Stripe carpet, part of our Arts & Crafts Collection. This collection features handmade motifs and textures and timeworn vintage patterns. We decided to choose a vibrant recolor for the carpet reminiscent of the recycled plastic fringes of the items in the La Fauna collection.

To complement the vibrant carpet recolor, we decided to add bright-colored materials. Therefore, we included Citrus Orange and Impressionist Ruby by Benjamin Moore. Additionally, we had the bright blue Classic Bamboo by Moz Design Inc. To add a darker material and a different texture, we included Panache by National Solutions. Lastly, we had neutral textured fabrics, such as Luca Gray and Dolin.
