Located in Shanghai is Oro Tiramisuteca, a concept dessert shop dedicated to the delicious Tiramisu dessert. Not only is Oro Tiramisuteca a great place to find Italian Tiramisu, but also a place to see a mix of contemporary and modern Italian cultures. The store design was done by Nong Studio back in 2018. They are a Shanghai-based multidisciplinary architectural design studio founded by Dr. Chasing Wong and Neal Zhu. They aim to create interiors that blend both art and design.
The store has very juxtaposed elements from the dark terrazzo and dark wood textures to the opposite side, which has a more modern appearance. It is paved with pink terrazzo and pink bespoke wallpaper. The wall showcases another Italian staple. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Inspired by the wallpaper of the Gallery, we created this Pastel carpet design. The image of Galleria Vittorio is mirrored and repeated to create a plan that makes a bunch of different shapes. The ceiling creates an oval shape while the moldings and paneling create various lines and curves. Our pattern follows a similar pattern with the repeating ovals and linework. We also take the same color palette to resemble the modern and more feminine side of Oro Tiramisuteca.
