The Gorgeous George Hotel is a unique place in downtown Cape Town. The hotel is built out of two restored heritage buildings and features beautiful industrial interior design and architecture. Additionally, this Cape Town area is home to the trendy Gigi rooftop, where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view of this stunning South African city.
Urbane Citizen Architecture carefully designed this beautiful hotel. The interior décor creates a unique environment using cornices, architraves, and oak floors from the original heritage structures. The interior is beautifully juxtaposed with sculptural concrete and steel beams. The hotel is exquisitely decorated and showcases African aesthetics with a neutral-to-dark palette. Not to mention, every part of the hotel is filled with unique artwork made by local artists.
We were particularly inspired by a set of coffee tables that we spotted at the hotel. The coffee tables featured beautiful splashes of bright colors that stand out from the white background. The accent furniture pieces looked like works of art that you could hang. Inspired by this we created a recolor of the Oil Paint carpet that is sure to look like a work of art in any interior space. This pattern features colorful brushstrokes against a neutral background and is also a part of our brand-new Trends & Colors collection. This collection reflects the latest pattern and color trends and is updated weekly by our team.
