The Design Museum Ghent is hosting an extensive exhibit on the innovative and diverse use of color. The exhibit starts from the paintings of Van Eyck, one of the Flemish Masters, and analyzes the different hues found in these historic works.
The exhibit takes you on a walk through the eight color groups of Van Eyck paintings in a pigment walk. The itinerary takes you an inspiring story of color used in furniture, textile, ceramics, and glass. Over a hundred design pieces demonstrate how light, matter and patterns have a significant effect on color. This is one of the must-visit exhibits, we absolutely loved it!
