It all comes down to the respect for human nature

The interior concept of Sozhou Bozhong Seiko Robot R&D Center is based on the principle that an excellent interior design is built around respect for human nature.

So, to create a comfortable work space the design team from Gold Mantis Construction Decoration Co., Ltd. made in-depth interviews with employees from all levels of the Suzhou Bozhong Seiko Robot R&D Center organisation in the early design stage. This was to fully understand the needs and wishes to be met when creating an environment calling for wellbeing and ultimately improved work efficiency.

To create a human-centered interior design Tong Chao and Xu Rong decided on integrating the earth, air and water elements from the external landscape to the indoor environment.

360 degrees carpet design

When designing the R&D conference room, a 360 degrees custom carpet was developed to encourage employees to generate more and better ideas in their brainstorming process. By installing carpet on the floor, wall and ceiling, the design featuring an astronaut in space signals that everything is possible as long as you believe.

Besides contributing with improved sound absorption, the overall carpet installation also spoils the employees’ sense of feeling by being so tangible on several surfaces.

For the R&D conference room we specified carpets for the floor, wall and ceiling to avoid interfering the idea-generating environment with hard materials.

The carpet designs materialise the company vision

Suzhou Bozhong Seiko Robot R&D Center develops commercial, industrial and military robots. Already serving humans in the desert, the ocean and the forest, the R&D conference room carpet pushes limits further by asking the question: Why not make robots serve us in outer space? Actually, the carpet design is an interpretation of the company owner’s vision as expressed in the question above and thus this overall intention trickles down the organisation by means of expressive carpet designs, among others.

When asked about the inspiration for the specific designs, Tong Chao and Xu Rong enhance God’s perspective and Google Maps. During the design process accompanied by ege designer Rita Cao, the design team saw the possibility of expressing various design themes through the carpets. So, they decided to set as many different themes as possible according to the spatial characteristics.

Carpets as area definers

Tong Chao and Xu Rong use rugs to define smaller areas in open spaces. Thus, specific patterns visually communicate ‘instant communication areas’ and ‘independent thinking zones’.

Besides this, carpets are used to complement the remaining interior by repeating colours to underline specific atmospheres. For example, in the desert area colours of carpets, furniture fabrics and ceilings comprise warm yellows. Contrary to this, the ocean area is a cool-toned environment with a combination of white glaciers and shades of blue.

It is no secret that Paris has been the capital of fashion since the seventeenth century. The city has been the playground for prestigious designers and couture brands like Chanel, Dior, and Saint Laurent. Today the Parisian style is not only an aesthetic choice but a philosophy. It embraces elegance, timelessness, and slow responsible fashion. The focus is on the cut and the quality of the materials. No fluff or excessiveness with a less is more approach. And what better way to understand Parisian fashion than to visit a museum dedicated to it.

For more than 70 years, the house has been crafting magical couture pieces in their atelier at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. Christian Dior has made this location a legendary address since the first collection in 1947. Behind its new flagship, the House of Dior inaugurates a permanent exhibition in an extraordinary gallery, independently of its boutique. Mr. Dior wanted to be an architect; the building and the museum pay him a beautiful tribute today.

The staging is astonishing. A circular staircase at the entrance showcases 452 dresses and 1,422 accessories, all 3D printed. Bags, shoes, perfumes, and small objects: so many testimonies of the Dior style materialized to elaborate this Diorama.
