Ancient Egypt’s peoples were advanced when it came to construction, creating the pyramids, which are still impressive and partly a construction mystery to many architects and historians.

During our travels in Egypt, we saw a couple of ruins in the desert. The clear blue skies were abruptly interrupted by sandy structures in odd shapes. These ruins caught our eye because of the texture. The scalding sun hit the odd shapes and created shadows on the sandstone bricks. Depending on the angle, bricks that were of the same color look different. We decided to create an organic pattern carpet inspired by the Egyptian desert ruins with the ruins in mind.
