Located in Champs-Elysees, the Hotel de la Paiva was built between 1856 and 1866. The hotel was built by Esther Lachmann, also known as La Paiva, who was born in Moscow to Polish parents. She married into wealth and became part of the elite. Before the Hotel de La Paiva, she had already acquired a mansion in Place Saint-Georges. Additionally, she received many notable people at the hotel, including the Goncourt brothers, Theophile Gautier, and Hippolyte Taine.
The hotel was created by Pierre Manguin, who used the Italian renaissance as the main inspiration for the building. He worked with various sculptors and painters to create the work of art the hotel is now. The hotel brings in the classic renaissance gold and onyx details combined with the beauty and lushness of the greenery. The winder garden in the hotel features beautiful molding, luscious greenery, and vintage furniture.
Inspired by the winter garden in Hotel de La Paiva, we decided to create a nature-inspired carpet. Our Amazone carpet is part of the nature collection, which takes forests, deserts, and oceans as the inspiration for the carpet designs. The recolor features deep green in contrast with a lighter green. The light green pays homage to the details on the walls of the winter garden. The darker green pays homage to the furniture and the greenage of the same color.
Taking the winter garden and the nature-inspired carpet as inspiration, we created a material board full of unique patterns and materials that complement the carpet. We included beautiful pattern materials like Arc Vertical Soul by Elizabeth Sutton and Braga Classic II by SomerTile. We also included lighter materials that add more patterns to the board, including Pixa Grid and Oceanic. Additionally, we added neutral and green textiles like Skipper by Posh Textiles, Hailey by Revolution Performance Fabrics, and Llinen by Luna Textiles. We included Santos Moroccan, Barnwood Decking, and Underseas to tie everything together.
Our Easy Recolor program allows you to recolor any of our many carpet designs like our nature inspired carpet. Additionally, you can choose any of our nine carpet substrates to take your project to the next level. The online tool allows you to visualize what the recolor will look like easily, and you can get your carpet within three weeks. Contact us if you want to learn more.
