The journey of Little Amal as an artistic expression of the refugee crisis

Little Amal Talk Carpet

Artistic expression is one of the best ways to convey a strong message. Little Amal is a representation of the pain and suffering refugees go through, a subject that is more relevant than ever with the devastating crisis in Ukraine. The 3,5-meter tall puppet visited the UK to spread a message of empathy and love. Somerset House welcomed the puppet with joy after her 8,000-kilometer journey.

Little Amal at Somerset brings hope

Little Amal Somerset House is an artistic performance that features talented dancers, singers, and actors. Good Chance Theater is the organizer of this fascinating event, with support from the Handspring Puppet Company as a part of The Walk.

The puppet made its way through 65 cities to raise awareness about the refugee crisis, highlighting the situation with the children. Many of them were forced to leave their homes alone and step into the world without their parents’ support. The performance brings out the topic of child vulnerability during unfortunate events, reminding everyone that they need compassion and protection.

Artistic performance that conveys a powerful message

The artistic performance was awe-inspiring. A total of 55 dancers performed the All Under the Same Moon choreography. Ruby Portus is a contemporary dance choreographer that developed the concept. Baque Luar provided the music while designer Poppy Lees provided the one-of-a-kind costumes. The pleasant outdoor performance provided a fun and educational experience for families.

The whole show is an amazing visual experience, grabbing everyone’s attention and sending a powerful message. Twenty children took part in the dance show, with colorful costumes to symbolize diversity. The vibrant lights illuminated the building’s exterior to provide an enchanting backdrop for the whole experience. little amal refugee, The journey of Little Amal as an artistic expression of the refugee crisis

Syed Haleem Najibi is an actor and a refugee that took part in the performance. He offered the girl a new pair of pajamas, symbolizing hope. He speaks of his own perspective, reminding the little girl that there is hope. Also, Syed’s emotional performance reveals that once he used to be a child refugee, having to walk away from home in search of safety. He speaks to Amal with a warm and loving tone, ensuring that refugee children feel welcomed and safe.

As the Little Amal performance at Somerset House was approaching an end, it was finally time for her to rest. A giant bed became part of the scenography, large enough to accommodate the oversized puppet. Furthermore, the last performance featured lullabies to help her rest and forget about the worries. The artist promised a worry-free future, which allowed the little girl to have a good night’s sleep.

It is no secret that Paris has been the capital of fashion since the seventeenth century. The city has been the playground for prestigious designers and couture brands like Chanel, Dior, and Saint Laurent. Today the Parisian style is not only an aesthetic choice but a philosophy. It embraces elegance, timelessness, and slow responsible fashion. The focus is on the cut and the quality of the materials. No fluff or excessiveness with a less is more approach. And what better way to understand Parisian fashion than to visit a museum dedicated to it.

For more than 70 years, the house has been crafting magical couture pieces in their atelier at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. Christian Dior has made this location a legendary address since the first collection in 1947. Behind its new flagship, the House of Dior inaugurates a permanent exhibition in an extraordinary gallery, independently of its boutique. Mr. Dior wanted to be an architect; the building and the museum pay him a beautiful tribute today.

The staging is astonishing. A circular staircase at the entrance showcases 452 dresses and 1,422 accessories, all 3D printed. Bags, shoes, perfumes, and small objects: so many testimonies of the Dior style materialized to elaborate this Diorama.
