Founded 36 years ago, Galeria La Cometa in Bogota focuses on representing, exhibiting, and promoting Colombian and Latin-American art. Additionally, the gallery is a place for viewers, art pieces, and artists to come together and communicate among themselves. On their patio café, one of the elements that stood out to us was kids drawing hanging in various thick and old-fashioned frames. A single light carefully illuminated each kid’s work.

Inspired by the exhibition at Galeria La Cometa, I asked my nieces, Ophélie and Marie-Lou, to draw whatever they wanted when they were home in quarantine after testing positive for Omicron. Their beautiful and creative drawings made the kid’s art custom carpet happen. The two of them were very excited and got to work on a big piece of paper. They drew flowers, odd faces, people, animals, houses, hearts, and different shapes.

This kid’s art custom carpet features neon colors, a classic white background, and some black. Ophélie and Marie-Lou were very creative in their drawing choices, making for a one-of-a-kind pattern.
