While traveling around Egypt, we found a local mosque with a breathtaking minaret which inspired our gorgeous emerald green herringbone carpet. Minarets are towers built by a mosque and are used for the Muslim call to prayer. Throughout history, minarets first appeared in the early ninth century. The early towers were not very tall but were used to identify a mosque in comparison to a regular building. Minarets come in a variety of constructions, shapes, and sizes. They can be tapered at the top, square, cylindrical, or polygonal.
As we traveled to old Cairo, we spotted the beautiful minaret attached to the local mosque. The sandy building seemed so simple, but the minaret pierced the sky, standing tall. This cylindrical tower featured beautiful green and white tiles that created a herringbone pattern. The bright colors of the minaret made it stand out among the brown building in the landscape. Inspired by the beautiful pattern and bright colors, we customized a herringbone carpet. This modern and unique carpet is a great choice for a modern interior design project with a hint of nostalgia and classic style.
