We find a distressed wall in Antigua, Guatemala, as our inspiration for this new carpet design. We talk a lot about the many colorful walls in Antigua, but for this custom design, we focus on the opposite. Because Antigua has many buildings that have been left alone for hundreds of years, there are many distressed buildings. Many structures use strong bases with cobblestones to make the architecture sturdy. The cracks and lines on the wall reveal the cobblestone base inside the structure.

The wall creates a natural and rustic look by the incorporation of stones. There is a beauty in its antiquity of the building by leaving the structure unrepaired. The wall also resembles the ruins inside ancient Guatemalan cathedrals and Mayan pyramids. The cobblestones are in grey with small accents of red, with an off-white paint peeling off the wall.

Similarly, we create a distressed carpet design that translates the worn wall in Antigua. We create a beautiful pattern with cobblestone shapes in grey and red. The stones are in different shapes and sizes, creating a natural and elegant interior space. The black lines are similar to the ones above the black door on the distressed wall. The large red stone shapes are comparable to the hints of brick red accents on the wall. Our cobblestone design adds an industrial flair to any office, hospitality, or restaurant setting.
