We could not travel through Colombia without visiting one of the top destinations for young travelers: Medellin. During our stay in Medellin, we got to visit unique districts and experience the lively nightlife. While exploring, we discovered Claudia Correa’s concept store, 902 Showroom, and is where we found inspiration for our new circle pattern carpet. The store is a gem and was founded 10 years ago by Claudia and her husband, Francisco. They first started selling imported pieces from the U.S., but slowly evolved to selling unique local pieces. The name came from the number of the apartment that the couple first started selling goods from.
The store is in an old warehouse. Touring it is like walking around a beautiful gallery where you can purchase any of the pieces. As you walk into 902 Showroom, the store divides into different sections, and everything is purchasable. You can find uniquely designed furniture pieces, décor, and even accessories. The warehouse gives this industrial touch that makes the space modern and unique.
Sitting on display on the second level, a display of hats hanging off the wall. It’s that uncanny arrangement that truly inspires our new circle pattern. The unique colors and sizes of the hat inspired us to create a circle pattern custom carpet. In this design, we included colors like the hats, as well as unique shapes and patterns reminiscent of the designs on the hats.
