The nostalgia is back in Valencia: Cuadernos Rubio by Masquespacio

Talk Carpet Cuaderno Rubio P1020683

Cuadernos Rubio is widely known in Spain for its nostalgic educational books for kids. The kid-focused bookstore has opened its doors with its flagship store located in Valencia, Spain. However, unlike traditional education stores, the architecture and interior design use color to appear like a retro-futuristic funhouse.

The interior is all thanks to Columbian interior designer Ana Milena Hernandez and Spanish design agency Masquespacio. Masquespacio is an award-winning creative consultancy founded in 2010. The interior design team creates similar interior projects that explore creativity and innovativeness. They are popular in Spain for their unique interiors, such as the Nozomi Sushi Bar, Kento, Breath, and more.

When entering the store, yellow and blue neon signs light up the entire shop. The neon signs point to different sections of the store that represent a different subject. Subjects include math, writing, and reading. White mosaic tile covers the walls and floor of the store. It makes the entire store feel like a blank page of a notebook.

The ceilings are a vibrant green, with wall plants decorating corner shelves and frames. The architectural decor is all made of mathematical shapes and geometric patterns. The neon color signs and boxes are all made of different colored transparent glass. The glass serves as dividers and furniture decor.

Each of the various sections includes interactive activities specific to that subject. For instance, there are rotating shelves that display math problems for customers to solve in the math section. While in the writing section, visitors can write directly on the bookshelves.

In the back end of the shop, customers can walk through a luminescent color tunnel. The tunnel leads to various sections, such as rooms where workshops can be held and a transparent neon yellow box that shares the history and story behind the brand.

It is no secret that Paris has been the capital of fashion since the seventeenth century. The city has been the playground for prestigious designers and couture brands like Chanel, Dior, and Saint Laurent. Today the Parisian style is not only an aesthetic choice but a philosophy. It embraces elegance, timelessness, and slow responsible fashion. The focus is on the cut and the quality of the materials. No fluff or excessiveness with a less is more approach. And what better way to understand Parisian fashion than to visit a museum dedicated to it.

For more than 70 years, the house has been crafting magical couture pieces in their atelier at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. Christian Dior has made this location a legendary address since the first collection in 1947. Behind its new flagship, the House of Dior inaugurates a permanent exhibition in an extraordinary gallery, independently of its boutique. Mr. Dior wanted to be an architect; the building and the museum pay him a beautiful tribute today.

The staging is astonishing. A circular staircase at the entrance showcases 452 dresses and 1,422 accessories, all 3D printed. Bags, shoes, perfumes, and small objects: so many testimonies of the Dior style materialized to elaborate this Diorama.
