Located near Verona, the Valpolicella region is famous for wine production. The luscious vineyards stretch all over the area, accompanied by an abundance of olive trees. Byblos Art Hotel Verona lies in the heart of this phenomenal region, offering a unique experience for art lovers. Are you ready to discover the unique combination of luxurious experience, hospitality, and contemporary design? We share our experience, so make sure you go through this post in detail!

The history of Byblos Art Hotel Verona

Dino Facchini is an art connoisseur with refined preferences, owner of Byblos Art Hotel Verona. It all started when he recognized the potential in an abandoned Venetian villa. He had a clear vision to update the villa into a luxurious 5-star hotel that allows visitors to enjoy his astonishing artwork collection.  Facchini’s idea to create a permanent exhibition for his perfectly curated collection became a reality in 2005. He managed to revive the Venetian villa thanks to his love for art and design. The team of designers restored the building and brought back its glorious appearance.

The contribution of Alessandro Mendini

Alessandro Mendini was a Milan-based architect, artist, and designer responsible for the restoration and interior design. His signature style is an exquisite mix of neo-modern and contemporary designs, and we can notice that his authentic vibes predominate throughout the space. Dino worked closely with Mendini to restore the original Venetian architecture and the fascinating paintwork.

The exuberant Italian designer implemented neo-baroque details with a contemporary twist. He implemented ornate antique designs for the dressers and headboards, revived with vivid neon colors. Michele Sanmicheli is the mastermind that designed the ornate facade. This Venetian architect was the most influential in his era, focusing on Renaissance architecture. The restoration process brought back the facade’s original look.

The interior

The extravagant ballroom features an artistic combination of contemporary elements. As soon as you step in, the Venetian glass chandelier wishes you a warm welcome. Designed by Barovier & Tosi, it is a monumental masterpiece that suits the spacious ballroom. It refracts the light while reflecting the abundance of color in the space. In addition, we love how the glass chandelier contrasts the coffered wood ceiling.

The futuristic furnishings bring freshness while expressing Mendini’s authentic style. We love the mix-and-match approach for the waiting area design. The baroque sofas come in bright colors to match the vibrancy of the futuristic pieces. The ballroom hosts one of the remarkable pieces from Maurizio Savini’s collection. This artist and designer are well known for constructing massive sculptures from bubblegum. He prefers chewing gum as a material because of the intense color and the affordability.

The artistic suites borrow the color schemes from Byblos’s fashion collections. Combined with details inspired by Venetian art, they created contemporary versions of 16th -18th-century iconography. The luxurious rooms feature high-end fabrics in bold colors, showcasing Mendini’s style.

While the interiors of Byblos Art Hotel Verona will impress you, don’t forget to admire the outdoor space. The garden features a romantic setting enhanced with charming Verona marble fountains. The entrance features stunning glass sculptures by Jean-Michael Othoniel, a contemporary artist from Paris. He is famous for experimenting with materials such as wax, sulfur, and glass.

It is no secret that Paris has been the capital of fashion since the seventeenth century. The city has been the playground for prestigious designers and couture brands like Chanel, Dior, and Saint Laurent. Today the Parisian style is not only an aesthetic choice but a philosophy. It embraces elegance, timelessness, and slow responsible fashion. The focus is on the cut and the quality of the materials. No fluff or excessiveness with a less is more approach. And what better way to understand Parisian fashion than to visit a museum dedicated to it.

For more than 70 years, the house has been crafting magical couture pieces in their atelier at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. Christian Dior has made this location a legendary address since the first collection in 1947. Behind its new flagship, the House of Dior inaugurates a permanent exhibition in an extraordinary gallery, independently of its boutique. Mr. Dior wanted to be an architect; the building and the museum pay him a beautiful tribute today.

The staging is astonishing. A circular staircase at the entrance showcases 452 dresses and 1,422 accessories, all 3D printed. Bags, shoes, perfumes, and small objects: so many testimonies of the Dior style materialized to elaborate this Diorama.
