The town of Comporta has a history with rice production, and the resort truly embraces it. The buildings of the resort are all from the old rice farm. The central patio connecting all amenities is the old rice working floor and remains intact from its past use. Additionally, Quinta da Comporta is an eco-resort since a lot of the construction uses recycled materials. They have their organic produce grown onsite, filtered and reused wastewater, and use solar panels to heat water.
While the buildings of the eco-resort hold so much history, the interior design is laidback. The boho-chic-inspired décor and furniture add to the feeling of relaxation when walking around the hotel. There is a lot of woods, white, and bold colors. Additionally, the resort features a lot of unique light fixtures and local art. Quinta da Comporta also uses materials like stone, sisal, and rattan, which add layers of textures to the interior design of the spaces.
