Biophilic carpet and a materials palette with cues from the Strelitzia flower

The Bird of Paradise is a beautiful plant native to South Africa that features bright and uniquely shaped flowers. The popular name of the queen of flowers is due to its resemblance to birds-of-paradise. The flower features inspiring vivid blues, yellows, greens, and oranges. Its scientific name is Strelitzia Reginae, after Queen Charlotte Mecklenburg-Strelitz who took on botany to get away from King George III.

The gorgeous Bird of Paradise is all over the beautiful Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden located in Cape May. This garden sits by the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, which is filled with gorgeous and colorful vegetation native to South Africa. The botanical garden was established in 1913 when the chair of botany at the South African College, Harold Pearson, realized that the town needed a botanical garden that could be linked to the university.

The beautiful views of the Kirstenbosch inspire us to use our Bamboo Forest Recolored carpet. The vivid colors of the Bird of Paradise plant take the green tones of the carpet to the next level. Our Nature Collection features beautiful biophilic carpets that are sure to create a stunning combination with the vivid colors of the queen flower.

The Bamboo Forest Recolored carpet acts as the perfect canvas for a biophilic materials board. We use Taxi and Marina, which are artisan-made tiles that are extremely durable and come in a variety of vivid colors. The Devon brick adds some more warmth with its orange tones and the material itself adds an industrial touch. When it comes to textiles, the blues and greens add a simple touch without taking the attention away from the vivid colors. The biophilic wallpapers, Palma and Pico, are a beautiful combination with the carpet to make you feel like you truly are in Kirstenbosch. We also include complementing materials, including the Elenco Rectangle, Wide Plank Hickory-Oil, and Encaustic tile.

Our Easy Recolor Nature collection allows you to recolor biophilic carpets inspired by beautiful nature all over the world. With our Easy Recolor concept, you can personalize your carpet in an easy and fast way. We offer a wide variety of carpet patterns to choose from and a choice of nine carpet substrates. Make sure to contact us if you want to spice up your commercial interior.
