The Lascaris palace, located in Nice, is a beautiful museum that features everything that has to do with Baroque design. The castle was built in the first half of the 17th century and is a lovely example of Baroque design. The palace first belonged to the Duke of Savoy, one of the most affluent families of Nice nobility. In 1942, the Lascaris was purchased by the city of Nice and designated as a historical monument in 1946. Jean-Baptiste Lascaris built the palace between 1648 and 1650.
The palace was reconstructed between 1963 and 1970, opening up to the public as a museum in 1970. The museum features stunning depictions of all phases of Baroque architecture. The Baroque movement first found its place in Nice during the 17th century. The baroque period is complex and even contradicts itself. The period is often described as grandeur, luscious, rich, dramatic, vital, tense, and exuberant.
Inspired by the baroque interior of the Lascaris palace, we created a custom Baroque carpet design. This design features a pattern similar to the ceiling of the Lascaris palace. Additionally, the design creates a unique movement that is reminiscent of the shape of the ceiling of the court. We also made sure to design it in pink color like the one featured in the palace. It is a unique and beautiful carpet design that pays homage to the unforgettable Baroque era.
