One of the world’s seven wonders, the Great Wall of China is a must-see spot for any tourist. Its first sections were built around 220 B.C., under Qin Shi Huang. Its primary purpose was to form a united defense system against invasions from the north. The Great Wall became the world’s largest military structure during the Ming dynasty. The tourist attraction was the site of many battles between the Chinese and various peoples throughout history.

The total length of the Great Wall adds up to more than 21,000 km, including overlapping sections that were rebuilt. During the Ming dynasty, the wall constructed was the most well-preserved section and is about 8,850 km long. Throughout the long walkway, there are passes, which were significant strongholds located at critical positions. Each key had access ramps and ladders and served as access points for merchants and civilians and an exit for the garrison to counterattack raiders.

The mixture between the sandy gray cobblestones and the green mountains creates a unique juxtaposition between manmade and nature. The perfect carpet to pay homage to the Great Wall is Cobble Fan Grey by ege carpets. This cobblestone carpet is part of the nature collection, which takes inspiration from all the natural beauty found in the world.

With the cobblestone carpet and the palette of the Great Wall view, we decided to play with sandy and neutral tones. For example, we chose to include gray tones, such as Firenze Design Stones Dot by Ceramic Technics, Peppercorn by Sherwin Williams, and Cembrit Patina by American Fiber Cement Corporation. Additionally, we included sandy tones like River Reflections: 1552 by Benjamin Moore and played with different textures by bringing in 8530 Velour by Belden Brick Company, Fleuri Natural Stone Veneer by Phenix Marble Company, and Cement Natural by Diverse Surface Solutions.

With our Recolor program, you can choose the color of our many carpet designs. Additionally, you can choose any of our nine substrates to take your project to the next level. Our online tool lets you quickly visualize what the color will look like. Contact us to learn more about the program and choose the perfect carpet for your next project.
