When visiting the Edfu Temple, we were mesmerized by how beautiful and big it is. The entrance features stone sentinels of the god Horus. The sandstone walls of the temple are extremely tall and decorated with amazing hieroglyphs and friezes inspiring this zig zag carpet. Thirtytwo towering columns surround the temple’s vast courtyard, and each one of them features floral and palm capitals.
The Edfu Temple’s construction began during the second century B.C., which was during the Ptolemy Dynasty’s rule. This makes the temple one of the younger Egyptian constructions, which is why it is so well-preserved. The temple still has its original ceilings in the original colors even.
Edfu Temple’s beautiful architecture and colors inspired us to recolor the Morocco carpet from the ege Carpets Cultures Collection. This collection features beautiful designs that feature tribal, Moorish, and kilim rug patterns. This zig-zag carpet’s deep reds and earth-toned colors bring warmth and uniqueness to any office area.
We decided to include wood tones like the Wide Plank Doug Fir, R50 Panel, and Unique Art OZ for the material board. We also included some grey tiles such as Paloma by Design and Direct Source and Bear Tooth by Fireclay Tile. The tiles add just the right amount of cool tones to the material board. To add more texture to the board while not adding a lot of color to it, we included textiles like Cherished Knit and Raffia. Lastly, we added some color and patterns to the board with Libra and Inga by United Fabrics to match our zig zag carpet.
