Hakob Hakobyan is a New York-based contemporary artist. Coming from Armenian descent, Hakobyan was born in 1983 in Echmiadzin, Armenia. Growing up, art was everywhere for him. He grew up in an artist family, with his father being Kajik Hakobyan, a well-known painter. At just six years old, Hakobyan created his first art piece, and three years later, he had private exhibitions for show at just nine years old. Today he lives in New York, where he has an independent art studio. Discovering some of Hakobyans work, the one that stands out the most to us is his piece entitled ‘Red Woman.’ This piece is abstract, made from oils and acrylic paints. To him, the artwork seems more like a passion project than anything else. It represents his dreams of the past and what he envisions as a woman.
For this custom pattern, we design a modern painterly carpet with painter-like strokes. This carpet has a deep claret color as the background. Paired with bolder shades of blue, orange, red paint strokes to really make the design pop. This carpet design fully translates the brush strokes Hakobyan uses in his art pieces.
At Talk Carpet, we believe it is crucial to take eco-friendly measures. We use waste minimizing roll layouts for our carpet patterns, minimizing the amount of material used.
