The old Mayan culture is rich and full of history that dates back thousands of years. While in Guatemala, we get the opportunity to visit the grounds of Tikal to see the roots of Mayan culture. While visiting Tikal, we saw some interesting Mayan pieces that inspire us. The Mayans use various animal themes and motifs when sculpting their stone sculptures. Their culture believes that people are born with an animal spirit while learning from a god that teaches us important life lessons. Their artifacts often include mythological figures and religious stories in the hieroglyphic symbols and sculptures. Usually found in ruins of temples and sacred pyramids, Mayan artifacts are used as rituals to their gods. We’re taking inspiration from the color scheme and integrating our nude geometric carpet on the materials palette.

The two sculptures that inspire us are both made out of stone and engraved with lots of detail. Both statues have silhouettes of a man, which seems like it represents the Gods they look up to. Both figures have detailed geometric shapes, and tints of pinks, yellow, and green reflect the stones.

Similarly, our nude geometric carpet translates the Mayan artifacts we see in the museum. Benin RECOLORED by ege Carpets uses beautiful hues of beige and orange similar to the two ancient artifacts. Our Mayan tribal-inspired carpet creates an exciting mood for any interior and acts as the perfect backdrop to our material board. We pair our geometric carpet with contract materials found on the material bank. We include various materials from brands such as Maharam, Artistic Tile, Opuzen, and more.

With our easy recolor program, you can recolor our nude geometric carpet to your liking. With our near-endless color option and our live visualization tool, you can easily see what will work for your next project. In order to provide you with different price points, we offer a selection of nine carpet substrates. Please contact one of our team members through the chat button or our contact page.
