LM Chabot is a photography duo who plays with visual fantasy and creativity in their works. Based in Montreal, Canada, the duo explores co-dependence by making the subjects inseparable in their photographs. Also known as Julianne L’Allier Matteau and Alexandre Chabot, their exhibition is titled Seeing In Double– Twins. Their inspiration comes from the everyday world around them. We are inspired by their concept and created an oversized polka dot flooring, a striking effect for corridor carpet.
The duo incorporates bold colors and unique motifs/textures in their artwork. LM Chabot uses identical twin models and creates visual illusions through their photographs. The models wear the same colors but in an inverted fashion, while also matching with the colors in the backdrop. Their photographs use grid illusion to create play with visual effects. Using superimposed polka dots as the background, the resulting image is an optical illusion.
Similarly, at Talk Carpet, we create a polka dot flooring that translates the juxtaposition of their artwork. Our custom carpet design is called Giant Dots and is made of giant red dots on a dark green background. We create a unique sensory experience with our polka dot grid illusion effect.
