Christophe is one of our founders and creative director. His passions are interiors, cooking, and traveling the globe for new inspiration.

Artist Marquis Lewis, also known as RETNA, is one of the world’s most prominent street artists. This American contemporary artist is known for his typography graffiti-style art. In his paintings, he combines poetry, fashion imagery, and media images into his designs. He also portrays his love of his Los Angeles upbringing in his artwork. His works are the starting point for our bold yet minimal materials palette featuring a cool carpet with numbers. This ege carpets pattern would definitely make a fun commercial area rug or workplace carpet.

RETNA uses primarily acrylic, enamel, aerosols, and oils to craft his paintings. For our inspiration image, we are focusing on the large RETNA painting at the Wynwood Walls. His wall art is mesmerizing and beautiful, incorporating white letters on a red background. The color combination and the giant letters stand out to anyone, even from a distance.

He creates beauty through language, using Egyptian, Hebrew, Roman, and Arabic calligraphy in his murals. His paintings often include hieroglyphics, and he gives the audience a multisensory artistic experience implying that all cultures are diverse and beautiful. A unique part about RETNA is that he does not reveal the meaning behind his artwork. He wants the viewer to have his own unique experience and interpret the symbolism for himself.

Similarly, our Neutron Large carpet with numbers reflects the graffiti street style into a more elegant and mysterious one. The letters and symbols are upside down, flipped, and sideways into one sizeable continuous pattern. The grey color creates a neutral interior space for any hospitality or office project.

We use Neutron Large by ege Carpets that is recolored into an elegant grey and black color for our edgy mood board. We include contract products Una Micro by ege carpets, Vidar by Kvadrat/Raf Simons, Excalibur by Riad Tile, Sunny by Alex Katz by Maharam Social Dance by Designtex.
