Dries Van Noten’s SS21 fresh and optimistic collection is inspired by psychedelic and experimental movies created by New Zealand artist Len Lye in the 1920s. By incorporating nature in bright and energetic colors, the Belgian designer provides us the inspiration for our psychedelic carpet pattern. We’re switching the design from the runway to a corridor setting.
Transforming his collection line into a breakthrough trend, his groovy clothing truly makes everyone feel like they are hypnotized. Noten uses vivid colors as his primary motivation for the collection. Vibrant shades of orange, red, golden yellow, and green are incorporated to create a psychedelic fashion experience. He uses minimalistic soft cotton and organza fabric to make the clothing comfortable and efficient for everyday wear.
Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen brings this collection to life. She captures images of the collection against various backgrounds that evoke sensory thoughts. One of the recurring backdrops includes a white studio-like setting with colored lights. Adding colored glow effects as a backdrop creates a trippy, individualistic ambiance for the collection.
Our psychedelic carpet design is based on these photographic effects that Dries Van Noten features for his SS21 collection. A wavy golden yellow and neon green stripe pattern creates an actual 3D effect along the floor. The carpet pattern’s right side also blends and fades into the background color, heightening the trancelike experience. The design creates a fun and vibrant mood for any a truly unique corridor carpet.
